Tuition Fees and School Policies
Attendance policy
Regular attendance is important for consistent student progress. Lessons are scheduled in semester long sessions. Students may make up one lesson per session with 24 hours advance notice given of an absence. Any teacher absence will also be made up at a time convenient to the student.
Lessons missed due to student illness may be made up at the discretion of the teacher with a maximum of three lessons per session.
Group classes that are missed due to illness may also be made up as a private class of shorter length. There is a limit of one make up class per session.
Refunds
If circumstances change and a student is not continuing lessons, a refund for unused tuition will be given less an administrative fee of 25%. Please email for more information.

Chrysalis Strings follows the NYC DOE calendar where applicable.
Fees
Group Class -@$20 per class with performance $100 per month (session of 5 classes)
Private tuition 30 mins (online) $720 per semester (session of 18 classes)
Private tuition 45 mins (in person) $1080 per semester (session of 18 classes)
Private tuition 60 mins (in person) $1260 per semester (session of 18 classes)
Tuition fees can be paid in 2 installments if the session is longer than 5 weeks.
Travel time and costs will be added to the fee if in-home lessons are requested.
Rental Instruments
Rental instruments are available for students enrolled in group classes in the appropriate size. There is a deposit required which is refundable unless the instrument is damaged or the student wishes to keep the instrument at the end of the course.
Refundable deposit for violin $50
Rental fee for violin per week $10
Simple instrument repairs are free of charge.
Additional materials
Access to practice videos is provided to class participants free of charge.
Additional materials such as course outline and sheet music are provided free of charge.
